1. What services can I offer?
Right now, the main focus of our mentorship is GoHighLevel (GHL), which is highly in demand. However, you aren't limited to just that—we also cater to and can help you offer services in video editing, graphic design, and much more depending on your interests.
2. Where is the best place to find legitimate clients?
For now, we highly recommend starting exclusively with OnlineJobs.ph. It's the best place to get your foot in the door. Once you have built up a solid portfolio, gathered testimonials, and gained work experience, then we suggest expanding and transitioning to Upwork.
3. How do I spot a scammer or a fake client?
Watch out for these three major red flags:
- 1. You get hired immediately without a proper interview.
- 2. They ask you to pay a fee or buy equipment first.
- 3. They ask you to complete a full project but haven't sent any upfront payment or signed a contract.
4. How much should I charge as a beginner?
Set your absolute minimum at $5/hour. Do not accept jobs that pay less than this. Accept the $5/hour jobs to build your experience, and as you get better, you will move up the ladder and increase your rates.
5. How do I receive my money from foreign clients?
Wise is simply the best option. It offers the best exchange rates to PHP and has the most reasonable fees compared to other platforms.
6. Do I need to register with the BIR and DTI immediately?
My practical advice is to wait until you are consistently earning more than ₱100,000 a month before worrying about this step. Focus on building your income and skills first.
7. What happens to my SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG?
It is entirely up to you whether you want to continue paying these as voluntary contributions. Foreign clients do not have to cover these benefits, and it is not required for them to do so.
8. Do I have to work the "graveyard shift" (US time zones)?
Be prepared: most jobs will require you to work the graveyard shift to align with US business hours. However, there are some clients who offer flexible hours or operate in different time zones where this isn't necessary.
9. What do I actually need to start?
You need four basic things: a good working laptop or computer, a stable Wi-Fi connection, reliable electricity, and a serious time commitment to learn and apply what we teach you.
